Moses Ma's Personal Blog

Welcome to my mind. Take your shoes off and please make yourself at home here. First, an apology. This really is more of a random journal of things of stray thoughts, rather than anything fit for public consumption. And if you have a private blog/journal of your own, please send me the URL. I'd love to get to know you! About me:

I've been helping Bob Fuller get his book launched, engaging in a guerilla e-Publicity campaign. I've been going to various discussion groups and blogs, suggesting to people to read the book. Like they say, "A brushfire only takes one match."

Here's what I've been saying:

---

Hey people, have you heard about this new book - "Somebodies and Nobodies" by Bob Fuller? He's hitting all the talk shows and the book is selling out. It's a perceptive and compelling analysis of the unperceived role of "rank" in society. It's about how easily some of us might put down those we see as subordinate in title or wealth or origin or education or even "hipness". And how painful it is to silently bear another’s assumption of superiority.

I got a copy from Amazon, and started reading it. It's really quite compelling and hard hitting. The abuse of rank — which Fuller defines as the denial of equal dignity to others — can not only spoil someone's day, but it can corrupt relations between nations, can be an indicator of dysfunctional corporations, and between the governors and the governed. Also, the guy is a realist, not an advocate of political correctness.

He proposes that equal dignity, whatever one’s place in society or the world, is a key to peace and social order.

Any of you read this yet? Verrrrrrrrrrry interesting!

Moses
