Moses Ma's Personal Blog

Welcome to my mind. Take your shoes off and please make yourself at home here. First, an apology. This really is more of a random journal of things of stray thoughts, rather than anything fit for public consumption. And if you have a private blog/journal of your own, please send me the URL. I'd love to get to know you! About me:

As a welcomed yet eerie calm settles over the nation, the business of politics gives way to the mechanics of voting. Even though a record turnout is forcing Americans in some states to wait as long as three hours to vote, every thing is running smoothly and people seem to be in great spirits. It's a great joy to see democracy running smoothly for once, providing a role model for emerging democracies.

Neighbors who were bitter rivals in this hotly contested election have already begun mending their friendships with "that thickheaded Republican" or "that bleeding heart liberal" next door. No more pre-election insanity of Kerry supporters trying to run down Bushites, and Bush supporters threating Kerry campaigners at gunpoint. It's starting to get downright civilized. In online forums across the nation, virtual hands are extended across the Internet to once again unify the country. Scanning bi-partisan chat groups, you can see postings like:

"No matter what the outcome, it's been a pleasure debating, arguing, and calling many of you names for the last few months. No matter who is in the big chair after the dust settles, somehow we'll find a way to muddle through the next 4 years until all of the debating starts again. Good luck to us all, no matter what side of the fence we're on."

I don't want to jinx it, but I think finally we're on the road to better times.
