I was reading the news and came across this 13 year old kid who wow'ed a conference of Republican PAC. They trotted him out like a little ballerina and ooh'ed and aah'ed when he recited his lines. I'm sure there's a really happy stage mom today.
Then it occurred to me... the Republican team is turning out to be more like a TV comedy show than a political party. Yeah, I can see it now - a moosehunting milf as President, an Indian guy channeling Kenneth the Page as VP, Joe the Plumber serves as the Secretary of State, Ann Coulter as the brash and sassy BFF of the prez, and this 13 year old kid as the brains behind it all. It would be hilarious. The first episode would be about Uncle Rush inviting them all on his jet, only to discover he's insane and heading to the Dominican Republic for a stag party...
When I watched Jindal's speech, I had to ask myself... is this the best the Republican party can deliver? Wouldn't they want to put up somebody at least somewhat presidential to counter the charisma and RDF that Obama wields? Then I remember. Sarah Palin interviewed by Katie Couric. Right. At least Jindal is smart enough to quote a few Supreme Court decisions. He is the best the GOP can deliver.
